Green Initiative

DSI's Green Initiative reflects our desire to protect and preserve our natural resources for an environmentally sustainable future.  The construction industry must be at the forefront in instituting green building procedures and policies in order to protect the welfare of future generations. 

Essentially, our vision is simply to build healthier buildings. Buildings that are healthier not only for their owners and the environment, but also for our company and our employees who construct them.  Our Green Initiative begins at the design phase and carries through to the construction by emphasizing conservation of resources, energy efficiency, healthful interiors, and by reducing our waste in the field.  We have adopted the AIA 50/50 approach to sustainable design, and our specific goal is to reduce our fossil fuel consumption by 50% by the year 2010. 

DSI will continue to use the best means and methods for every project, with the challenge to be conscious of how our decisions can make a more positive impact on our environment.  We will promote environmental stewardship throughout Georgia and embrace environmental initiatives with surrounding states.  Our Green Initiative will help us become environmental leaders and allows us to give back to our planet, community and clients, providing a better quality of life for all of us.
